Salary packaging is available to all permanent full-time and part-time employees.
Salary packaging is part of a taxation law which provides generous tax concessions for employees of not-for-profit organisations, where money is deducted from your salary "pre-tax", so tax is only paid on the remaining portion of salary. The salary packaged money is paid to employees (tax-free) with each pay. This results in a significant reduction in the amount of tax paid. This tax-free amount is in addition to the normal income tax-free threshold.
Employee Assistance Program
An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is available to all employees at MDHS in an endeavour to provide help and support to employees at times when they especially need it.
The program provides employees with confidential counselling and support for workplace or personal issues and are intended to help employees deal with any personal problems which might adversely impact health, well-being and work performance.
Staff Development Unit
