Hospital Services
At MDHS we endeavour to provide services relevant to every phase of a persons life - from birth to aged care. We provide a wide variety of hospital services, from Acute and Urgent Care to Antenatal and Surgical services, enabling a comprehensive health service delivery to the community.
Local General Practitioners provide support for our Urgent Care Centre, Anaesthetics, Obstetric Services and "in-house" medical treatment.
We have consultant visiting surgeons from Bendigo and Ballarat providing general surgical services and specialist surgical services in Ear, Nose and Throat, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology and Urology.
Our Renal Dialysis unit provides dialysis three days a week and can also provide dialysis for visiting clients.
Our Antenatal Clinic is located on the first floor of the Maryborough Medical Centre (Neill Street, Maryborough) and provides care to all women from 13 weeks of pregnancy to full term. The facilities are modern and designed for the comfort of the women who attend the clinic.
We have a spacious birthing suite with highly competent midwives and access to medical care close at hand. The refurbished post-natal areas provide privacy and comfort for family and friends.
The majority of shire residents use our services unless specialist of complex obstetric treatment is needed, then a referral is made to the larger hospitals such as Bendigo Health Care Group, Ballarat Health Services or Melbourne hospitals with whom we have close affiliations.
The
Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights in Victoria
is a new website developed by the Department of Health.
It incorporates the content of the previous Victorian Public Hospital Patient Charter into a new brochure to enhance articulation of the rights of patients, consumers and carers in the Victorian setting, and ensures congruence with the
Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006,
with which all publicly funded organisations must comply.
It is available in English, Braille, Audio and 25 community languages.
